Arthritis Foundation Auto Show

ZROC once again is planning to participate in the Arthritis Charity Auto Show.  The event is next Thursday through Saturday, July 17 – 19 and the show location is 555 Metro PL N., in Dublin, Ohio.

The main show is on Saturday but the Friday night cruise in is pretty cool as well.  ZROC has participated in this event for over a decade so if you can make it out we’d love to see you there.  You can register your vehicle at www.arthritis.org/afcas.  For those of you on Facebook an event has been created under the events tab so responding to that would be great so we have an approximate count but you must register your vehicle with the Arthritis Foundation at the above site to be able to participate in the show.

If you just want to walk around and look at all the vehicles you can do that as well but I believe there is a $10 admission fee per person.

Enjoy the weekend!

Vintage Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course – Sunday, June 22nd

Sunday, June 22 is the Vintage Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (official event name is the Permco Grand Prix) The club will provide the main dish. We ask that club members provide a side dish. Please let us know what you are bringing so that we don’t have triplets of the same thing. I have set the meeting time for 8:30 Sunday morning at the rest stop off I-71 North for those that want to caravan up. As I will be out of town for this event Shelby will be leading this and will provide additional details as the date gets closer. You will need to purchase a general admission ticket from Mid-Ohio in advance or at the gate to attend. Pricing for these can be found on the Mid-Ohio website. If you intend to go, please reply to the event post on our Facebook page.

ZCON

Greetings,

As some of you already know, the ZCON event in Nashville is coming up this September.  What you might not know is that leading up to ZCON there is a Z car Rally dubbed ZAAR (Z’s Across America Rally) the route is over 7,100 miles in length (if you drive the entire route) and is split up into 16 different segments.  Segment #6 starts in York, PA runs through Columbus and ends in Indianapolis, IN, ZROC is partnering with ZCCC (the new club from Cincinnati) to host the Ohio part of the drive.

All the details of this segment are still being finalized but if you are interested in assisting ZROC with this event please let me know.  If you want to drive along on segment #6, or any of the other segments for that matter, I am attaching a link which will take you directly to the ZAAR page on the ZCON site where you can see the entire route and register to participate.  There is no cost to participate in the ZAAR event (other than your time, gas and food), but if you choose to go to ZCON there is a cost for that.  If you want to participate in any or all of the segments for the ZAAR you must sign up and complete the waiver.  Please note that the ZAAR is for Z’s and other Nissan family products only.

Interestingly, this rally event was last done in 1995 and had a similar route.  I am also attaching a video clip of that event which is pretty cool to watch.

I hope to see most of you at the Dealer Heritage Drive this Saturday, May 17th.

DRIVE YOURSELF HAPPY!!

Z Parts Available

Sharing some information from a ZROC founding member Jim Corbett

ZROC.

John Hull, a ZROC Charter Member, out of Findley, as many of you know passed away late in 2023. John and Eric Grassman, campaigned a 280Z in autocross events for maybe 10 years. Eric is now working with Cathy to liquidate the collection of Z stuff that John owned.

John, like all Z-Guys wouldn’t throw away parts that may become usable on the “Peach” …(the name they put on the race car because of the color. ) “The Peach” was a 280Z and there are parts that Cathy Hull wants to sell.

I explained to Eric, that ZROC has few first gen cars…but still, I wanted to let everyone know that they have Fuel Injection parts, A/C units an other parts. Located in Findley.

Members reading this and have something that you’re looking for…it might be a opportunity for you to pick up what you need…and help out Cathy Hull.

Contact Eric Grassman at 937-776-7176.

Jim

P.S. I also recommended Paul Krimmer!

2025 Event Schedule

Below is the event schedule for 2025 which was reviewed at the Annual meeting today.  This will also be uploaded to our Facebook page and posted on the ZROC website.  Please print out a copy and post it on your refrigerator so you can always see what event is coming up next.  As was discussed today some of the dates for these events might change if needed due to weather, conflict with other events or other circumstances beyond our control.  There might also be events added as we go through the year so please stay in touch with our Facebook site, our website and your emails for updates.

The club is off to a good membership start this year, so if you haven’t renewed your membership yet please take a moment to do so this week.  Thanks again for supporting ZROC…looking forward to a GREAT 2025!
